TRAYNOR BASS HEAD GROUP TWO B

Subscribed, I'd like to know more about this myself. I've fallen in love with Traynor gear!

I have a Traynor TS-200 guitar amp from the 70's that I bought off of Tom Bowlus a couple months back and I use it for bass.... Traynor is wonderful.

I went to the Yorkville site and pulled up the Traynor History and couldn't find my head... only the TS-50 and TS-100.

It has a rather extensive history though so try checking out there.

Indeed. It's funny - the VERY first Traynor I played through was a solid state 50 watt head. Blew it up after a couple of days. I've never found that amp ANYWHERE on the Traynor site.

Yes it has plus and minus rail voltages. The schematics I get from Traynor are all dual mj802 outputs. I bring it up slow on the variac and the voltage out to the speaker just going up with the rail voltage but the xitors and diodes all check good. Nothing I can find is shorted.
 
I haven't sold it yet actually. I'll post some pictures as soon as I get a hold of a camera. I've been having fun playing with my drummer friend and 3 full rigs.

- Ampeg SVT350 + Ampeg 810
- Sunn Concert Bass + Kustom 3x15
- Traynor Group 2 B + Traynor 1x18

It's a lot of sound all at once, but I've got it split up with a Big Muff, Boss Bass Overdrive and a Ratt. Pretty loud and crazy.
 
Usually this type of amp has bipolar power supplies typically in the plus and minus 40-50V range. The output (load) is taken at the junction of the complementary pairs. Ground being the other connection for the load. The exact topology used I’m unsure of. Some, including an amp I built in the Eighties, took the output from the collectors. Others I have seen use the emitters.
