Double Bass Traynor SB200H

I recently ordered a traynor sb200h head to use with my DB and EUB. My current rig is DB/EUB into a HPF+ into a Tonedexter into a Quilter Tone Block 200 driving a MAS 16. I choose the sb200h to replace the quilter for it’s weight, 4 tone controls and that it is recommended by Gollihur Music.

I looking for tips and recommendations from fellow DBists that have experience using this amp.

Thread revival....

I played a street festival last saturday in Buffalo under a nice tent on a real stage. The gig was backlined with the Traynor SB112. My experience was very good. It was only a stage monitor, as it was DI'd to a nice board. It sounded good to me though. I just plugged straight in with no preamp. I didn't have to fiddle much to get a good sound. It was not obnoxiously mid present or brittle on the high end.

Disclaimer: I had the good fortune of following another upright player that they'd already dialed sound in for right before we set up.

I wrote this last year after using the combo version. It's the same head to my knowledge. It was a very good amp, especially for the dough.

I would think if you are using the TD that you might just send that to the FX return.

Thanks! I am planning to try it both ways. One advantage over both the Quilter and the TD is that the SB200H has a 4 band EQ. Not sure if I will need it, but I like the idea of the flexibility if I do.
