TRB JP pickup/preamp replacement

What preamp and pickups will match the existing fitment? Need the same replacement to be able to closely match the sound characteristics of the original setup? If not what replacement would be able to improve on the original sound characteristics?

I know Batolini G6 pickups would fit in the Patitucci.

Anyone knows about a preamp that could work with the original Yamaha pickups?

These pickups are amazing, the preamp is noisy and peculiar, though.

I am considering changing the pre leaving the original pickups on.
Should it be some kind of custom preamp to work with the fantom coil?
