Tremolo Bar on Squier Jazzmaster Baritone?

I'm buying one of these, [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] from one of my guitarists. I will fill the hole where the strat jack input is and have it moved to a new black pickguard while I'm painting the body and headstock silver sparkle. I will also have the tone knob hole moved closer to the volume knob, and the pickup switch moved up to the top of the pickguard.

I'm wanting to know what the best tremolo system would be. I don't want to cut into the body for a strat whammy bar. I imagine the tension is going to be an issue. Are there bridges hat will adjust to the correct tension for a baritone guitar?

Also, how would one best plug the strat jack hole. I was thinking about whittling a piece of wood down and then fill gaps with wood putty. Could that damage the tone?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Is there a particular reason you want to get rid of the strat jack? I doubt plugging the hole with wood would do much to the tone that you'd notice what with the cheaper wood and thick finish they use on squiers (not trying to hate on squiers, I own 4 of them).

I've seen jazzmaster specials (same bridge as the jazzmaster baritone) with bigsby trems on them. That would probably work without having to do much work to the guitar itself. Do a search for "jazzmaster bigsby".

I got the trem yesterday, and am trying to figure out if I want to tackle it myself or take it to my man Harold. I feel sure it's going to be ok. I ordered the newer, longer, squishier spring for it.

I'm not changing the strat jack. It's fine, but I am moving the pickup switch, with a new pickguard.
