Hey guys & gals, I s'pose this aint big news for most here, but MY new G & L Tribute L-2000 arrived yesterday

Black-basswood body -all standard, but NIIIIICE tones.
Maple neck & board... Gee they're made nice!
I'll be using it mainly with my SVT2 or V4BH & NV610 , or for the jazz band gigs:- thru my MArk BAss LMII into Aggie GS112, or LMII into Fender 210PRO & GS112.

She's a LOVELY babe. Pics to come!!!! Anyone got any fave settings. I've only just really played with each setting briefly to make sure all work....so... any hints...
Will take some pics this arvo & upload 'em in a day or so & post 'em in this thread & in the Show yr G&L's

I just picked up a new L-2000, blue with maple neck and rosewood board. I got it brand new for $425.00 out the door. This is a hell of a bass for the $!

I got the b-burst about a month age and love it..what a looker...a little heavy compared to what I was used to, Ibanez SG but the tone blows it away big time! The only prob I've have is when I tried to use my lightwire to record in garageband. I noticed the vol. pot crackled pretty bad when I rolled it back to keep from distorting the line in level. Anyone here had a prob with their vol. pot being noisy or feeling sticky/dirty??

Yeah thanx guys!!! I originally ordered a Black w/ rosewood fretboard....but a long story short.... after a cuppla weeks the shop-NITRO-TONE in Massachusets I think- got back to me-after I emailed them LOTSA times & got NO reply( they were fast to answer my emails BEFORE I paid them, but after I paID the $$$$$$ the email responses got VERY SLOW- ONE/WEEK in fact!!!!!!! So, after many emails PLEADING with them for a reply, they got back to me saying -1st its not sent yet( a week after paying/ordering)!!!!
Said it'll be sent within 48 hrs... it wasn't another week of no responses, then an email saying the bass I ordered-the bass they said was sent(??) was not even in stock!!!!
So I settled for a MAple fretbrd one- fine by me-better in fact - AND a few goodies added for the stuffffed up order! FINE!!!
Any way the bass arrived in good time after this!!!! Thank God!!!!!
The "goodies" were a couple of decent quality VOX leads, a BBE FREE FUZZ pedal( that had a battery in it that was leaking acid!!! Cleaned up OK .... and a really cheapo plasticky tuner-which works well! So THAT was fine. BUT the bass arrived with NO Strings!!!!!!!!!!! It had a tag on the tuner saying G&L strung with D'addario strings, but mine had NONE!!!!!!!!! The neck was removed for shipping-Something I aggreed on- So maybe the strings were 'forgotten' then???????? I dunno- as I emailed NITRO-TONE about this & -surprise surprise- NO RESPONSE!!!!!!!! Do U think I should start a thread & write the WHOLE story????? Maybe I should wait a few weeks & see IF they send me the strings that SHOULD'VE been on the bass!! I mean, thats an extra $40AUS at least I had to pay to get the bass playable! 'Tis a LOVELY bass tho.

You could have saved yourself from all this by buying from a local G&L dealer.

While this is absolutely true, the markup in Oz is fairly murderous.

NITRO-TONE in Massachusets

Bump - while perusing SB-2 auctions I discovered that they've had 3 neg feedback ratings in the last month on G&L transactions. I'd definitely avoid these guys. Their eBay profile is "thatnewsound".
