Trigger finger release surgery

First post here, and I have a question for upright bass players who have had trigger finger surgery. Have you been able to play without recurrence of the problem? I'm mostly a guitar player but got really into playing upright in 2023-24, and it led to trigger finger in my left index finger. I had the surgery in August of '24, and spent most of the recovery period brushing up on dobro since holding the bar was about all I could do playing-wise with the finger in question. For some reason I was paranoid that picking up the bass again had a high chance of leading to recurrence, but yesterday I saw a medical study that said it showed only a 2% recurrence rate after surgery.
So I'm wondering if anyone here who plays exclusively upright has had the surgery and been able to play for a length of time without recurrence. I'm turning 62, so the "end of the road" is in sight and I'm not averse to a little suffering to enjoy the last couple of decades (God willing).
Thanks in advance!
