Stephen Stills, Paul Williams, and Danny Hutton all auditioned for The Monkees and were not selected.

The urban legend that Charles Manson auditioned for The Monkees is totally untrue. Manson was in prison in 1965 when the auditions were held.

The secrets of alligator wrestling....

  1. The muscles they use to open their jaws are very weak. Most humans can hold a gator's mouth closed with one hand.
  2. If you rub an alligator's belly from tail to chin, it renders them unconscious. Rubbing from chin to tail revives them.
So, if you're ever in a situation where you have to battle an alligator, just hold his mouth shut with one hand, flip him over with the other, then rub his belly from tail to chin. Piece o' cake.

Thurl Ravenscroft was the voice of Tony the Tiger ("They're grrrrreat!), and he sang "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" for the classic Christmas special.

The music for "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" was composed by Albert Hague, who also played the music teacher Mr. Shorofsky in the movie "Fame" and the subsequent TV series of the same name.
