Darkglass Microtubes B3K V2
I paid 150 for one used, they sell for 260 new.
It's fairly straightforward and easy to use. It has knobs for Level, Blend, Tone & Drive plus two on/off push button switches for Grunt and Mid Boost. It will go as mild or wild as you want it.
I was leery of it at first cause Darkglass is associated with a lot with metal music. And about as close to metal as I'm going to get would be Alice In Chains. I play a lot of 70s, 80s, and 90s rock, blues, grunge, and occasionally a country tune or two. But I got it at a local shop and they said if I didn't like it to bring it back and I could try something else. That was 6 months ago and the thought of taking it back never crossed my mind after turning it on the first time.
I wonder how that compares to the Vintage Microtubes? It's so hard to tell from videos. I can still hear solid-state clipping going on in my Vintage. It's the least-bad pedal I've found so far but I'm looking for saturation without any sizzle.
