Troubleshooting Grounding Problems

I also rehearse near my computer (I have all my rehearsal files on it). I encountered the same thing, but I have found that if I run an extension cord to my amp (from an outlet that's NOT on the same breaker as the computer) the problem is notably diminished, but it isn't entirely gone.

+1 to computers being a buzz source, as well as any dimmers in the house that are set between"full-on" and "off".

a $10 outlet tester will let you see if your house is wired right; i found reversed wires and missing grounds in my place!

Try turning the computer off, this will eliminate it as a possible noise source.

If your house wiring is not properly grounded, any noise source (like a computer) will cause bigger problems.

I have a very similar problem when I am my practice pad,... it buzzes sometimes and sometimes not,. the buzz reduces when I sit on a chair,.. it really puts me off playing.

I am looking for a power regulator into which the amp can be plugged in before it can go into the mains,... is there something like that around??,... cause what happens if you go for a gig and you face the same problem,..... it can really piss you off.

SO does anyone know of a regulator or something of the sort to handle the problem.??
