Troublesome Fender Bass problem..

Hey everyone, advice is needed!

I'm working on a Fender MIJ Jaguar Bass, originally it was a simple problem that the input jack was incredibly intermittent, would cut out easily so a simple swap-over was needed to fix it.. easily done, wired it in and now i've got a problem where the output is next to none, it's coming through with no noise but just barely any volume to it. rechecked my soldering which is all fine, re-soldered it on anyways just to check and still have the same issue. any ideas? i've done the obvious and checked the battery so the simple solution's definitely not there!

EDIT: just realised it's in the wrong forum, need to move it if possible, my bad!

still need advice with this one, replaced the wiring between the battery and the input which didn't work, now running new wire between the switch to the input.. if this doesn't work i'm back to square one :(

i had a brainwave and luckily, i've got another jag bass here so i swapped out the jack input by disconnecting the wires at the switch and the battery instead of the jack, just to make sure it's not my wiring, fitted them into the faulty bass.. and the problem is still there. so that rules out the jack, switch wire and ground to the battery. so that leaves me volume/tone controls, and the pre-amp itself! there is output, but it's minimal :(

any more ideas?

Look for broken wires in the rest of the circuit. It's easy for them to get broken when moving them around replacing a jack. I'd especially check the power and ground wires to the preamp board. Make sure the preamp is getting 9 volts when you plug a cable into the jack.
