Truss Rod Question

Somebody tells you that your neck needs relief. Does that mean to adjust the truss rod counter clockwise to make the neck more concave (bow)? Or would you adjust the trust rod clockwise to make the neck more convex (hump). The bass is a fender jazz. What problems can occur from having the neck to concave?

you need to loosen the truss rod ever so slightly (1/4 turn). Usually counter clockwise.
If your neck is too concave you're going to get a lot of buzzing in odd places, like the middle frets etc.
having the neck too concave - you're going to end up with excessively high action.
just a slight concave bow built in will give you nice action with little buzz/fret rattle.

somebody (who) says your neck needs relief? what do YOU say???
the set up on your bass is to your specifications, based on your desires, and your playing style. If you like the way your bass is set up, assuming that you are not a novice, then who cares what "somebody" thinks.
