Trying to identify a (Fender?) P Bass

Hi I am new to sign up to Talkbass, but I have been getting good advice from this site for many years - well done everybody

I am being offered a P Bass but I am not sure if it is a real one or just a collection of parts? The seller says that they can't find the serial number, but that it may be an American model bass.

I just wondered if anyone might be able to give me the benefit of their experience? The machine heads are real and it looks "aged". What do you think?

Looks like a parts bass trying to be a mid-70's Precision...

Would need a neck stamp to really help narrow it down, but that sticker is fake.

Fake. Chinese neck, fake decal, fake body with wrong shapes, wrong pickups, new guard, it will never be a Fender.

Thanks for looking. I will try to get some more information from the seller, but I can see that it doesn't look that convincing.

Tuners are real though, possibly the bridge. lol

Don't bother. There wont be a serial number, there wont be a neck stamp. Fake.....

Hmmm...Let's see...another "Where's Waldo" instead of "1973 P bass"...1.) wrong tuners 2.) no bullet truss rod 3.) decal is wrong 4.)no skunk stripe on the back of a supposed Fender neck 5.) White pickup covers (not crucial, changing them isn't that hard). 6.) plastic holder behind neck plate is gone (again, no biggie) 7.) black nut 8.) non Fender issue strap buttons. Is that enough?

That decal is totally wrong. It may be just me but those pole pieces look large. Did somebody drop some QPs in to some white covers? I have been thinking about doing that myself for some time...
