Trying to remember name of a band and bassist...

This is driving me nuts. What was the 70's or 80's rock/pop band that had this bassist who always dressed to the nines? Suits etc. It was his thing. No one else in the band did it just him. I just can't remember. I seem to recall seeing them live once with Jim Messina opening for them. I went to see Messina. He was fantastic. I sat through the headliner but I really dug Messina doing his kinda jazzy stuff.
Anyway does that band ring a bell for anyone? It's just bugging me.

Some more well dressed bassists:

Duck Dunn - extra points for the pipe
Dan Hartman - epitome of the “bass suit”.

mans who can forget Danny Bonaduce
Danny has the same birthday as me, so I remember him vividly. Watching him in those old Partridge Family song clips is hilarious! He was such an articulate player! Sneaky fast, I guess... because his hand/fingers rarely were on the correct fret/string in relation to the song. Lol.
