Tuning Machines for Baritone Acoustic

Hi guys,

Just picked up a Goldtone GMB+ Baritone acoustic to play when my band busks or does unplugged shows. It allows me to get a little bit lower than the two guitar players and projects way better than an acoustic bass guitar. Sounds great, but I'd like to replace the tuning machines when getting it setup. Does anyone know if standard tuners (preferably locking) will work for such thick heavy strings?

I plan on using .016 - .070 Elixir Strings.

Any help would be great, as I plan on ordering them online and would hate to have them not fit.

Measure the ones on there now. Get the same size.

I have standard guitar tuners in the two Bass VI style 6 string basses I have and they work just fine. They are not locking tuners, however. You might need to contact the manufacturer and see if the strings you want will work with the brand of locking tuners you want.

if you were considering Sperzel's for example, their guitar tuners will accept either .078 or .085 string diameter depending upon model. They require a 10mm diameter peghead hole. Their bass tuners will handle a .125 diameter string with a 7/16" diameter peghead hole.
