Tuxedo Bass #5

Is finished, and although it's a clone of the other Tele-style, I changed a few things.

Nothing radical, just some sculpturing like I did on the first Tele-Style I built about a year or so ago.

The color on this one is Ditzler #11639 1957 Cadillac Orion Blue ------ and I have two more on the bench that will be Ditzler #70663 1957 Cadillac Mountain Laurel and the other is Ditzler # 70680 1957 GM/Buick Seminole Red.

Unfortunately I've promised three more to others here where I live and I've gotta get more body material. Thinking I'll try some Lodge Pole Pine for one or two.

The last one in Seminole Red, the guy has requested all original NOS (if possible) Fender parts on it. If not NOS, then n whatever I can get, but it has to come in a Fender Gearhead parts bag.

He's paying, so I'll do what he wants, but it gets my Tuxedo Bass logo on the headstock and the back side of the body under the neck plate like this last on I posted here tonight.

There's a nice woman who will engrave my logo into a blank neck plate, and I'll let her try one to see how it turns out.

My next dream is that I still want to try a lime-fade to natural wood like a tobacco burst - but in green.

Lodge pole has some nice blue/green-ish grain color to it if the wood's just right! That should be interesting.

I do NOT want this to turn into a business, but I would accept donations to my 3/4 carved double bass fund.

Yeah - I'm going to the dark side.

Hey Joe, I have a guy that I used once for an engraved neck plate, and if the need ever arises again I will not hesitate to use him again.

Here is the neck plate I received from him.

That looks like a laser cut - right? That's a good idea.

The woman who does the ones I was thinking of uses a rotary diamond bit to engrave the logo, and now with this new information I've gotta consider which I like better.

Got any idea on a one-off price?
