Tweaking a Fender '80s Elite 1 w/TBX

Recently I bought an Elite one. Its supposed to have a detented TBX tone pot. Mine doesn't have the detent but does have the resistor and cap. The tone control doesn't do much , tone wise, until almost full counterclockwise.
I'm wondering if any of you have tweaked it to a standard tone control
