Double Bass Tweeter for DB cab?

I prefer a dedicated mid driver fir DB over a tweeter. If a cab has a tweeter it has to be a well designed combination. Not the kind that has a big response gap between the tweeter and the woofer and where the tweeter is often louder. Those maybe usefull for slapping an electric bass, for DB it’s about the opposite of what you want.

Anti tweeter guy here. I love my Berg NV115’s because they have a 6” midrange driver and no tweeter. Just right for these old ears. YMMV
I guess it’s not the signal being crossed over that I dislike but rather the sound of piezo tweeters. I love that NV115 cab and the 6” driver concept too. I hardly ever use mine for the DB though just because of the size and weight.

I don't gig, so I get to cheat! No way would I want to schlep these around. But they sound great with UB and EUB, not to mention slabs. :)

I only have 1 cab that has a tweeter ( 2 I think ) that I have ever liked - an AccuGroove Whappo Jr. The tweeters in that cab don't seem to bother me. However, I use it more for synth's these days vs. Bass.

I think tweeters are a very personal choice, as is evidenced in the hundreds of TB posts on the topic.

I have just built a new cab with two Eminence Legend 10" drivers and no tweeter. I also made it sealed to give less lows and tighter sound. It has all the highs I need without a tweeter. In fact, I dislike tweeters, a 6" driver with crossover is a much better idea. I also have a 1x10" ported cab with a wizzy driver, and a GK 2x12 ported neo cab. This one is great for slab, but too prominent in the lows for upright. My 2x10 sealed is the best.
