Tweeter issue with GK 700RB (model 1) 115 combo

After assembling everything back together and even switching the polarities of the horn wires on the speakon connector, it unfortunately seems like the 50w horn amp is fried. Thanks for the help and suggestions guys! It was a good learning experience for me and I cannot complain about the amp because it sounds great as is especially at the $200 price tag I got it for.

Only thing left for me to do is to buy a new fan which B-string kindly provided the information on where to get the replacement. Hopefully a new fan will eliminate the fan issues I am experiencing which is way more important than the horn amp.

The horn amp chip is available here Invalid Link Removed You may find some other small components fried as well, but like I said you need to be better than average with pcb solder work to replace it.

Unfortunately I'm not too experienced with soldering as of now, but maybe it's a project for the future... Just out of curiosity the amp chip appears to be much cheaper than I would have expected. What is the expensive component in a bass amp? Or is the labor put into the circuit board what makes an amp more or less expensive?

Most expensive single component is the power transformer (also output transformer in tube amps). Second expensive is the chassis. All the other parts add up real fast.
