I have been recording live performances of our band with a BOSS BR-864 recorde for years. Before the BOSS recorder I used to just use a cheap boom box and magnetic tape. Many times I use the stereo mic on my Panasonic Mini DV video camera and send it into the BOSS recorder. I know these are not high end recordings but they usually they are good enough to get an idea how things are going.
It seems like when I listen to recordings of my playing with cabs with tweeters, I many times get all kind of scratchy tweeter noise. I don't hear it at all when I play. But man it can really be apparent on the recordings. Do the recordings with these cheap mics aggagerate this high frequency tweeter scratch and buzz or is it really that apparent in the live setting and some how I don't hear it?
