Two degrees of separation

The "two degrees" thing is funny, because it can build so fast.
I gigged with Lenny Castro, Walfredo Reyes, and Smitty Smith. Those three connections give me "2nd degree" with hundreds of greats from Dylan to Santana to MJ.
Opened for and hung out with The Wailers and Toots and the Maytals - hundreds of others of greats.
Hung out with and took lessons form Chuck Rainey - probably thousands of greats.
That's just from 6 interactions.

Eric Clapton, Derek Trucks, Benny Andersson, Macca, Jeff Beck... (those I'm sure of)
It helps when your brother in law was a session keyboard / musical director in London.
I could get more, but we don't talk 'work' at family gatherings!

Always a bridesmaid... close calls with big players but nothing really to mention outside of nostalgia, but here it is:

Elvis (friends dad was a Jordanaire);
Every country music icon of the 70s (same guy);
Paul McCartney (same guy lol);
Jon Anderson (my own playing with a guy working with Jon);
Frank Zappa (via Dweezil);
Ike Willis (Dweezil);
The band Survivor (my playing with a guy who was in the band);

that's it offhand.

Well, I've met Dizzy Gillespie, Yusef Lateef, Doc Watson, Johnny Winter, and some other lesser known but widely connected players ... so geez, 2 degrees from a boatload of people.

Okay , lets play.....George Harrison , Steven Stills , Jeff Beck , Ramones , Smithereens , Suicidal Tendencies, Butthole Surfers , Bus Boys , Social Distortion , Marty Freidman , The Platters , Ruth Brown , Tony Williams and Jaco (he played my Travis Bean one night) . I have a few more , but I've already taken up too much space.
