I am a long time fan of Mesa/Boogie/Engineering's cabs, have owned both their PowerHouse 6x10 and 2x15 as well and currently own their 2x12. Keeping it short, I have been throwing around the idea of getting a 4x10, found a couple for a decent price. Being able to purchase just one, it leaves me the option of which. One is a silver grill era PowerHouse model, the other is a black "diesel" era. Both are the road ready (built in road case) models with casters. Guess I'm just looking for opinions of one or the other. There is only a few bucks difference in price between them. Fire away.

Two Mesa's

The old school Diesels have an awesome sound. The newer PH's have a bit bigger lows a little more clear hifi style on the top. The PH410 is my favorite cab. It sounds a lot like the PH212 but a little bigger and with slightly different (IMO preferable) midrange.
I know the Diesels get a good amount of deserved praise for what they are and how they sound. I guess I just never came across anything that really compared the two. Like I mentioned I already have the PH 2x12 cab, I have gone from 10's to 12's and now looking get another 10's cab again. All things considered perhaps Diesel is the way to go? What has me also attracted to these two cabs is their both road ready.

Just be sure you grasp how heavy these cabinets are compared with many of the newer cabinets on the market. If weight isn't an issue, either of these would be good choices.
Very nice, would be a little heavy and large to transport I'd think though.Two mesas!
