The truss rod adjustment was made on the Schecter, not the Fender. Sorry about the confusion. The truss rod adjustment on the MIJ Fender is located on the pick guard end of the next and requires a screwdriver to make the adjustment. At minimum, the pick guard would need to be removed to access the truss rod.

The good news is that no truss rod adjustment was needed for the MIJ P-bass. I didn't have to do anything except tune up 1/2 a step.

Ahh, that makes sense now. I knew it was difficult to see it in the usual places. Unfortunately that is a dealbreaker for me. I think all truss rod adjusters should be like the one on a MusicMan, on a scroll wheel at the end of the neck. You can use any kind of tool that fits in the hole to adjust the truss rod. Makes it soooo easy.

I need to adjust the action and/or truss rod. It feels comfortable to play and not too heavy.

Nice! I have a Schecter C4 Custom, and I can tell you Schecter makes GREAT basses. Yours is absolutely gorgeous to boot!

How does the neck pickup sound of the schecter compare to the MIJ?

The Schecter has a more aggressive growl even with the tone dialed back all the way. The p-bass has flat wounds, while the Schecter still has round wounds on it though.

I put black D'Addario tapes on my Schecter and am very happy with them, they just seem to work on that bass.

I have tape wounds on my Fender Flea Jazz bass. I like the way they feel and sound. I may try them on my Schecter.
