two smaller pedals or one bigger pedal?

ok so for chrimbo I'm getting the chance to get a pedal or two of my parents. But im having trouble choosing between two stomp boxes or one bigger pedal.

If I was to get a bigger pedal it would the EHX Bass Micro Synthesizer, and if I was to get two stomp boxes I would get a Morley dual bass wah, but I don't know what else.

I've tried both the Micro Synth and the Dual bass wah and I like them both, but I can't decide on a second stomp box if I was to get two smaller pedals. Any suggestions for the second stomp box? (by the way I already have a distortion so please don't recommend a distortion)

well i would use the octave affects, frequency shifting ability and the square wave on the micro synth. I can get the synth for £164 and I can get the Morley for £86. So if i got the Morley and another stomp box then both options would come out as relativly the same price.

Well it sounds like you're really interested in the Micro Synth, so maybe that's the route you should go.

But if you want to think about some of the other options, being that you would be getting these from your parents, I assume it would be best to check out things that are readily available from dealers your parents could trust new at a reasonable price, right? When I was younger I tried to get my mom to find me something used on ebay... didn't go so well... you get the point, you can't count on your parents to shop for musical gear unless they really know about it, so you should pick something they can't screw up. One pedal that comes to mind that you might dig and would be easy to find at a reputable dealer and fit in your price range is the Boss OC-3 Octaver. Check it out.

And out of curiousity, what are you using for distortion?

My first suggestion is just get the BMS.

If you get the wah plus something else... I wouldn't get an octaver because the BMS has that and you obviously want to get that at some point. I wouldn't get an envelope filter because it's sort of similar to the wah (please don't yell at me for saying that). You already have a distortion. So I would suggest something like a chorus, a flanger, a phaser, a tremolo or a compressor. If I had to narrow it down more I'd pick the compressor. The BBE Opto Stomp is good and in your price range.

Again, I really think you should just get the BMS you know you want rather than a wah you want and something else you might not even like.

Even better reasoning: you want that wah, and you want the BMS, instead of getting the wah and something else you might not want, you can get the BMS and save up for the wah, which would be cheaper than getting the wah and and something else (agian that you might not like) and saving for the BMS.
