Foundation 2000, that's a new one on me ! Anybody have any time / production details on these ?

Foundation 2000: I am thinking it was the 'cheaper' version of the Foundation series of old. I got mine from a guy who bought it new in 2002 for around $800. The body is light, and the neck is that oiled and hand rubbed type like the Stingray and Dimension basses. No neck dive because of how it sits, and the pickups have hot but tones output.

My biggest gripe is that I would love to put some different pickups on it - like EMGs - without wrecking it. The baby blue color is not one I would have picked off the rack, but it could be worse.

The action is good and I have played with it live many times. I have brought it to nearly every gig since I been with the band I am in as a backup to the others guitars.

There was alot of Peavey talk on the FB page "The Bass Guitar" early this morning.

Nothing out of the ordinary just lots of folk with good taste. Somehow they let me join in

Tuners are in Miami, Bridge is in Erlanger and the Body is still with UK customs.

What's up with UK customs it's a piece of wood, how hard is it to check that for contraband.

There tends to be a lot of attention to certain woods that are controlled due to overuse, I know that rosewood imported from certain areas is banned, not sure on the details but there are a number of things customs check for when it comes to wood unfortunately

It's just a swamp ash body, no neck.

I think it's more likely they're waiting on exchange rates changing. They charge the tax on cost of item + shipping @ 20%
then hit me with a customs clearance charge and I better not forget 3% import tax too.

The swines also use the same rate for the month so don't reflect daily adjustments in rates.

It really negates any benefits of buying from overseas.

Just played around with my T-40... trying to get a sound similar to what I'm getting from my dual humbucker Bongo and my Classic Stingray. I think I can get there eventually. Any suggestions?

The bridge pup solo'd in humbucker mode wasn't close enough to my Stingray. I need more tweak time.

If I could ever find an exact model of this bass, I'd be all over it faster than anything.. Love the colour and maple neck combo.. I think I need a 5 string..

There's one here but it doesn't have the birdseye maple neck and fretboard. Price is kinda high though.

As much as I have a fetish for birdseye, I could sacrifice to find one of these basses.. That's a bit more than I'm willing to spend, not to mention shipping costs.. Gorgeous nonetheless..

I have a question, my last name is Fury so when I saw a Peavey Fury in a pawn shop right after I started playing bass I had to get it. In my search for information about that model I have discovered that it is a 1990 model from the serial number but the headstock has the Fury name in script. I do not see many of these with a script font headstock and even less with this particular script font. Was this a special in those years or did it mean a particular model? Anyone know the history of the script font on the headstocks?

By the way I think you meant 1980 not 1990. Thats an original Fury.
