Could you confirm what the pot and cap values are. I looked back at the messages, and he has everything but the pots and wiring. I'll have to re-gut it. No biggie, but I'm not familiar with what components work best for actives.
To anyone: Also, if you could throw in any 3 knob preamp into something, what would you go with? I read a post on here trying to find info about a guy using and Audere Classic. I think the Darkglass can come in a 3 knob, 3 band. Just thinking about possible future adjustments.

There's no values on the pots. Must have been a shortage of solder at Peavey cause there's no slack.
The volume and tone pots say R13 7934,these a very small 3 lug solid shaft pots. The Blend again says R13 but the rest is hidden by solder,only other mark is 75065050. The cap says .1K and 250 T.
As it's the pickups that are active you should have free reign regarding the passive pots.
Afraid I can't help with 3 knob preamps,all the ones I have are 4 or 5 knobs. I do like the Tone Monster preamps from Guitar Fuel. They do 3 knob pre's with dual pot for bass/treble,can run either 9v or 18v.

What brand machine and/or type of heads/tuners were used on a '92 Foundation? Just got one of these and the G and D tuners posts, could say shafts but that's a bit racy, for the clover leafs are badly bent. From the looks of the body, it was used at a Saxon concert until they were chased from Britain and used in combat. I got a set of Grovers that matched the dimensions of the screw holes but the post for the strings are slighly off so the holes don't align.

I don't know if anyone has ever identified a specific brand they used back then for those tuners. I think you just need some that are 1/2 inch posts. I not sure what brands are a match for the screw holes, though.
On another note, has anyone chaged the preamp on their Axcelerator and still have it lying around?

There are some models that had all Schaller hardware Like the TL-5, and some that had Grover Titan style tuners. But, I was under the impression that all the Foundations used the open gear, cliver types. I haven't heard of thise being a specific brand. I could be wrong, though. I assumed that was what he was talking about.
A real quick question does any of the folks on this Peavey thread know when or if Peavey is actually going to remake a U.S.A. Cirrus 4,5,6 string bass anytime soon?
Don't hold your breath. Those new imported ones aren't exactly setting the world on fire.
I think that's correct. Peavey's instrument line, with minor exceptions, has moved off-shore and it's hard to imagine it coming back to Mississippi—or that a price point could be found for a US-made Cirrus (as good as the previous ones) that would shake up the market. For now, the used US-made Cirrus market is the place to be.
I read recently here on Talkbass that Peavey might be manufacturing a U.S.A. Cirrus bass that is why I was asking, and as far as the import Cirrus basses go I haven't played one yet but from what the previous poster above wrote it sounds like the import Cirrus basses aren't doing so well.

It's hard to see folks buying $1000 imports when the used USA models can be had for much less. The new HP2 guitar is a great thing as it competes with the EVH,from what I've heard it should have better QC than the EVH too.
A USA Cirrus would only compete against the new import and the used market. Since it'd be much higher priced I can't see it being a sound business decision.

I think they're in house - if you call Peavey, you can probably get replacements for a good price - I have in the past... Be prepared to give them a serial #, and maybe a pic of the tuners, as some were long shaft, some were short shaft back then...

Yes, that’s what I was asking. The dimensions on Schaller, Grover, and others were the same but these, while they looked the same, have slightly different dimensions. Peavey has them so I’m thrilled.
Glad to help - Peavey customer service has been very helpful to me over the years... I've had to replace tuners on a couple used basses of theirs, and the cost was very reasonable for OEM tuners...
This beauty arrived today. It's in good shape. There are a few small dings, some buckle rash, and this gouge in the front, but they just add character. It's definitely light, maybe lighter than my Fury. The neck is P bass width which is a tiny bit wider than I'd prefer but not really a big deal. It still has the jack and original knobs. It's just missing the guts. I'm probably going to wite it VVT, so I just need to order some pots. It could also probably use a coat of oil. Super excited to get this back in working order and try it out!!!

Now get that thing thumping again!
Pots are on the way. I'm hoping to have it alive again before next weekend.

Question for the experts-
I have a 2nd Gen TL-5 that I swapped the hardware on. I ordered Hipshot knobs (2 regular, 2 stacked), but unfortunately, none of them fit. The shaft on the volume and blend are too big for the knobs, and the stacked knobs are too big for the stacked pots. Anyone know where I can source black versions of both?
