Ubuntu users?

I love how the "Windows sux, I use Linux" guys end up using flavors of Linux to try and make their computer look and act just like Windows.

Windows 7 is really quite nice.

I use Debian about 95% of the time at home and Windows at work. The only times I boot into Windows are a few things that don't work on Linux such as Netflix and a few apps that I use to manage my Synth patches.

I have no problem with the look and feel of Windows. I use ubuntu because it was easy to download and install, there's plenty of online help, apps are easy to install, and I suspect that an open source OS is more robust and secure.

The main reason I chose Debian which Ubuntu is a branch off of is because it's "Free as in freedom, not free as in beer"

They are both free. It was more a comment regarding the comment about linux users trying to emulate Windows.

At the moment there's a virus (or whatever) named MannInBlackk infecting nearly every forum on the 'net.

According to Stop Forum Spam it's coming from someone in the Ukraine.

I use ubuntu on my laptop for battery life, since i only need to do surfing, reading, and minor word processing on it. I get nearly 50% more battery life when running ubuntu than the windows variant.

Heavy lifting (gaming, graphics design) is done on my Vista desktop.

I have to admit that Win7 is pretty nice, and boots quickly. I installed ubuntu when I was still slogging through XP, then a friend gave me a copy of Win7 to help him with a programming project.

I run Ubuntu. But I can't say everything went fine... Had to search a lot to solve some problems. It does the job tho, I kinda like it.
