I've seen "uglier" basses than this one. I also think the quality of the picture doesn't do it much justice. I've seen other basses built by this same luthier and I have to say some of them are very nice looking, but that's just my opinion. Some basses seem to be some people's favorites, while to others they're just plain "ugly" or completely unappealing to the eye, this is one of those cases.

Really... Where? I need to see a picture to believe there's an uglier bass out there. That thing is ridiculous ugly. Seriously looks like he did it on purpose.

You guys crack me up. I can't really comment on how a bass looks, after all, the majority of my basses look they were made from scrap wood left over after someone made a coffee table. Funny thing is in my house I think its tacky to have two different natural woods in the same room. But my basses have had bubinga, ebony, swamp ash, flamed maple, Wenge, Purple Heart, Ovankol, alder, rosewood, you name it. If my hardwood floors and cabinets in my kitchen used all those woods of probably vomit everytime I looked at it.

The web is a wonderful source of pictures of all sorts, you will find anything there, including really "ugly" basses ;). In the end it all comes dow to personal taste, maybe what you like is some one elses nightmare bass, who knows? In this case beauty or ugliness is in the eye of the beholder
