I have a Behringer UMC22 interface running into an HP Desktop with Mint Linux 20.?, using either Audacity or Ardour DAW.
I have tried a dynamic mic into the mic input, two electric guitars and a bass into the instrument input. In every instance, the input levels are extremely low. The "sig" light will only flicker with the gain maxed, and the "clip" light doesn't come on. When I make recordings the level is too low to be useful, and I have to amplify the signal with the software.
I suspect that this may be a problem with the interface. I think that I have had better results when I had a different interface a couple of years ago. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas? I kind of hate to replace the thing only to find that there is no difference....
