Underpowering the cabinet

Munjibunga, it is my understanding that the majority of the amps use a DC decoupling capacitor, the capacitor you mentioned, simply because an amp design that doesn't require one needs calibration (= mucho expensive)

As far as the 4 volts displacement is concerned, I said earlier that most speakers only need 1 or 2 mm of cone displacement to loose all of their good characteristics and produce 50% or more distortion.
