Yes, that website famously and erroneously misuses the term electrostatic. I do not advocate imitating them. I have designed circuits up to 60GHz and I don't consider 60Hz to be DC and neither do capacitors or transformers. Some of the people who read our words here are quite young and may go on to be scientists or engineers some day. I'd much rather give them a simplified version of real physics that they won't have to painfully unlearn in a couple of years than dumbed down fantasy world physics. Electric field is a far, far better term than electrostatic. Perhaps better yet is capacitive coupling because anyone who knows how a tone control works will understand capacitors at some level.
