Double Bass Underwood setup?

...and just for the heck of it, try disconnecting the treble side of the Underwood from the bridge. Let it dangle. You'll definitely hear a difference and less treble.

That's exactly what I did. I had nothing but bad tone out of my Underwood until I pulled out the treble side contact. I actually now have it wrapped around the tail-piece and only the bass side is in the bridge. What a HUGE difference - nice and warm, lots of tonal room to move, no "wolf "tones to speak of.
