Unexpected Color Scheme

I used to have an orange jazz with a brown pickguard, I was quite fond of that one.

I know exactly what you mean, bro. Here's one I used to have:

When I used to cruise the Carvin message board when I was having a guitar built, a guy was wanting a new color and wanted it to be unusual (IE one no one else had) so he contacted them about doing a color combo for him. It was on a quilted top. the body was green with blueburst edges. The called it "dragonburst" and it became a regular color. I wish I still had the pic of his guitar that I had saved. It was vivid!

To be honest. Although it's not extremely unique I've always wanted to build my own bass and give it a white finish with black checkered pattern over the top. Maybe even a jazz bass shape with a red PG or something lol... No way am I skilled enough to build a guitar though! Haha

I actually almost think tort on orange works too well to be unexpected. I had a solid orange jazz bass once and it just was stunning with a tort guard.

Yeah, I agree with you. But I've been surprised to see comments here on TB in which guys almost gag at the prospect of tort on orange or red basses. I like them on both! :D
