Unexpected NBD: Squier 40th...

I have had gas for the Squier 40th's...My first bass was the Squier Jaguar SS...from a classified ad on TB.

I'm a P bass scoundrel and loved the lake placid blue gold edition since it was announced.

I just ordered one a week ago. From MusiciansFriend.

Box directly from Fender to MF, labeled and numbered as a LPB 40th Squier P bass and then in turn shipped to me from MF.

Barcodes, serial numbers and everything from the Fender factory said that there was a LPB 40th P Bass in that box, but what's in the box was an Olympic White 40th Jazz, bro...what's in the box!?

The exact words I said to myself when I opened the box..."it's a white jazz bass, bro". Lol.

this was definitely a Fender mistake, but I don't care. I haven't had a Jazz in years and the quality is so special with these, I'm going to keep it.

It's a very quality instrument and the setup is so well...it's also bsolutely more beautiful than the lpb in person, to me. I already have a white P bass.

I just wonder who has the Oly J for my LPB P lol.

Congrats!
Those Squier 40th models are really great.
I’ve bought the 40th vintage Jazz.
Loved it so much, that I bought the P version as well.
Love the white on yours
Awesome. Thank you. I fell in love with entire edition of the 40th anniversary. It sounds and plays so well, and like I said before...it's been awhile since I've had a J and this bass is the most amazing J I've ever played. :bassist:
