UNICORN BASSES

The Amazing Swedish handmade basses from Unicorn.

I heard from the builder himself (Christian Olsson) that my bass (see below) have been posted as one of the most beautiful basses every built (or something).

The Unicorn basses are not just beautiful, the play wonderful aswell.
On the swedish bass forum (www.pratabas.se) )I'm known as the guy who has owned about 50% off all basses in sweden. :)

To explain myself alittle there. :)
I have a sick intrest in basses, some years ago I played about 120 gigs per year + that I worked at a fulltime job. = $$$$$$.. :hyper:

I had no family on my own, just myself and a small small apartment. So all my money when to the lovely instrument BASS..
I bought about 2-3 basses a month, every thing from old Fender basses to new hitech Warwick 6 stringers with leds. :)

Why then?
only because I wanted to try (still want) out all kinds of basses and woods and pickup setups and preamps and stuff, Just to get more knowledge about what the diffrent pickups and woods do to a bass.

Some years ago I came in contact with Windmill Basses. My friend and basspartner Mats Laveborn (Link Removed) helpt me into the world as a salesman. He got me with him to a bunch of guitar shows, and at one of the biggest in sweden (www.fuzzguitarshow.se) I met Christian Olsson and I tried out his Unicorn basses.

I grabbed a nice looking Artist 3200 bass with a beautiful wenge topwood. I tried it out in a small Tecamp (www.tecamp.de) combo and I was totally blown away. I told Christian that I wanted the bass on the double. But Christian wouldn't let go of his own little beauty (this bass was built for himself). But I didn't give up, I gave him a call acouple of days after the show ended. I told him that I've just started my webstore and asked him if I wanted me to sell Unicorn basses. :bassist:

Christian told me that it was Ok to buy the bass I've tried at the guitarshow, and that made me very happy.

Unicorn basses are one of the best brands of basses I have ever played. The tone, the feel, the sound, everything is just awesome.

I will add some soundclips in acouple of days when i have the time.

These look like nice basses, I like their looks, like a sort of low-end Alembic/Pangborn type aesthetic.

Mark King was recently given one of these free at an Airport by the Luthier (he seems to get a lot of basses free in airports!) but he never recorded with it or played it live.
