Unique Sadowsky Tokyo

Just want to post this unique Sadowsky Tokyo P. The bass and treble controls are inside the control cavity. Perhaps this bass was made for players who prefer a passive P most of the time but also use the preamp only to boost the signal when needed ....nice idea. I will do the same to my Fender P.

Not understanding this. What's the point of installing pots that you can't use? If it's only for tweaking, use trim pots. Otherwise, put it on a stacked pot and put it on the front. To hell with conventional 2-pot P-basses! (Blasphemy, I'm sure!)

Cool idea. I require my P-Basses to be passive, but maybe this was made for a player that wanted active electronics with a traditional P-Bass knob layout.

I would guess that this is the Sadowsky onboard preamp with passive tone and active/passive switch. So it looks like you push/pull the tone knob for active/passive bypass. When in active mode you get an EQ curve determined by the settings of the internal bass and treble pots. In passive mode you only get the passive tone control.

The cover doesn't have holes. I think the idea is to have the player set the level of bass and treble and leave it that way.

Very cool idea! I will do the same to my fully passive GP Contra 6! (the single cut 6 string bass below)
