University housing

So i'm planning on moving out of the country to Amsterdam to the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, but one of my main problems is housing on budget.
So i'm curious, have any of you had simillar experiences, and how did you handle it ?

Fresh & Soph year I used loans for my housing. Junior and Senior year I worked my butt off to pay rent.
