unsilked twisted ends?

I’m curious if there are any other brands of strings with this type of un-silked winding on the tuner ends?

I was just going to say Warwick Red Labels, but I see you already know that. Are you talking about others currently in production?

Yes, I tried some a while ago and I can't remember what brand they were.

GHS and Rotosound have that type of outer winding on most of their strings. As far as I know I believe they all have silked ends though but you never know. GHS basics or rotobass might look like that too.

String Joy. I like how DR, for one, does it with maintaining the spacing until the end.

Newtones are not silked. and IMO they are great strings. No affiliation.

No, both GHS Bassics and Roto Bass have the same type of ends as D'Addario with tightly wound ends, not loose spiral ends like the Warwick.

Any silked string is an unsilked string waiting to be revealed.

The only other string that I know of that had the same loosely-wound spirally wire at the tuner end without silk is the long-discontinued GHS Infinity Steels, which were actually red in color.

Maybe it was the GHS Infinity's I was thinking of. Those were interesting strings.
