Unsure P or J bass (Squier

forum.gif

SEARCH is your Friend! there are 1000's of threads on this exact subject. i think youll probably be happy either way but id read the threads and if you still dont have the answer then ask again.

IMO play em both take home what you like more

J=deeper lows and higher highs. P=growly mids. P is a bit 'thicker' in the first positon. P is simpler tone-wise. If you play with fingers, where the pickups are may help you decide. I find that they are not as different as everyone wants them to be, but I've always preferred the P. It's less knobs, more space, and just thicker for me.

Your profile says you already have a P but boost the treble knob and leave the bass knob alone.

With that in mind, I think your next bass should be a J (but keep the P for now).

I think a P is the best bass to start on, but that your bass stable should include a variety of basses!

I honestly don't know. The music shop in my town has one (I don't know if it has been sold yet) but when I first saw it I though it was a modded P-Bass. From what I have heard, they are good basses, but information about them is scarce. It felt nice, but I never plugged it in.

If I had the money, I would snatch that Pro Tone near me right away.
