So I have the mid 2009 MacBook Pro with 2.26ghz, 2gb ram and 180gb HD (I think)
Anyways the thing is finally starting to become a little bit slow sometimes hanging up here and there. Only for a moment but its beginning. Also editing or importing videos takes a WHILE. Music recording can be a bit smoother in tracking.
Anyways I'm not into the ins and outs of computers, I'm sure it could use a fresh install but I probably did that about 6 months ago. This computer has been through hell, dropped on concrete so many times has dents and dings to proove it, even fell flat In its screen on concrete once picked it up no problem.
I'm wondering if throwing 8 Gb of ram at it (since its socheap)would improve my video and audio import editing and playback speed.
It's battery is getting old so it'll need a new one of those too.
I normally sold and bought new every year for a 1-200$ loss (not bad at all) but this one I kept?
I reluctant to sell it because we'll its got some character lol kinda cool how rough it is, and why waste the money?
On the other hand money isn't that big of a factor and I can sell this one as is for 450-500$
Figuring the upgrades would cost me 100$ or I could get a new one for 1080$ no tax 2.5 ghz processor (with boost up to 3.1? (BS?)) 500gb hard drive and 4gb of ram.
So anyways I guess my main question is since I'm no computer geek, will more ram be my solution or not?
