Does anyone have an opinion on the best upgrade pup for my '11 Fender jazz am special? I really don't know what came stock with it. I was thinking of upgrading to the am standard, but I sure love all the aspects of the one I have now. I would like a little more from the pups though. Any help is appreciated.

  2. What style are you wanting to play with it, and what wood is the fretboard? That'll make a huge difference on what direction you want to take your pickups.

Rosewood fretboard , and alder body. Basically play music from CCR, Eagles, Van Morrison and Doobie Bros, so I guess I'm still looking at passives?

  4. I've tried stock Fender (2008 AVRI '62 Jazz), SD Basslines, DiMarzzio Ultra Jazz, Fender CS 60's, and SD SJB1. I prefer the SJB1 greatly to all the others.

  5. Go Lindy Fralin. Never been disappointed with them.

I was very impressed with the Seymour Duncan Antiquity II's I installed in my Fender Am Special Jazz. Definitely worth checking out.

  7. Definitely passives. I'm a big SD guy myself. Unsure about their jazz pups, but my precision quarter pounders are great.
