Upgrade Squier Affinity or buy Classic Vibe P?

So I have had an Affinity P Bass for a year or so and have started playing fairly regularly, is it worth it to upgrade the pickups in the Affinity or just buy a new Classic Vibe Precision? I play through a Fender Bassman TV Twelve with flatwounds if thats any help.

If you like the way the Affinity feels, and in general it seems like a solid bass, but feel it's just lacking in the sound department, a simple pickup change might work. But if you feel that maybe the bass could be better overall, a new bass might be called for. Nothing wrong with getting a new bass, IMO. A Classic Vibe would be a good move, but don't overlook the Vintage Modified Precision. I have the amber version, and it's a great bass.

I loved the way my affinity played and felt, just felt it needed a little help in the pickup department- went with Antiquity II's- great sound. Then added a badassII bridge for a little more zing

When I had an Affinity JV, I swapped in a pair of BassLines and OMG!!!!

I might be wrong, but with the money you'd be putting into the Affinity for those suggested upgrades, you could probably find a used Classic Vibe. I love my Classic Vibe P. No upgrades necessary.

Yeah I could, I have $400 and the electronics are really starting to crap out in the Affinity for the past few months or so. I've read really good reviews on the Classic Vibe on here, it just seems like a nice step up were a Mexican Fender, it seems like its more just paying for the name on the headstock.

I'm thinking of ordering the fiesta red and a mint guard to go with it, as much as I like Pino Palladino I'm not a huge fan of the tort.

The CV is truly awesome as long as you don't mind the wide neck (1.625" at the nut).

Imo...if you like the Affinity, do it..new pickups...go for it. Im they type to get attatched, i would rather upgrade than sell.
