Upgrading amp, Opinions?

Hey guys, want to say thanks in advance for the help.

I am still relatively new to playing bass, I've been playing for about 8 months now. I play pretty casually, usually with friends when I am not playing drums. I now have a need for a new amp, my tiny 15W isn't cutting it anymore. My budgett is about 350-400 dollars. Basically I'm just looking for something that is loud enough to play over a loud drummer/guitarist in an enclosed space. I don't imagine I will be gigging anytime soon with my bass, since I'm primarily a drummer, so that isn't a problem.

I would suggest an Acoustic B200. That should be loud and proud.

My advice is to check the classifieds - craigslist, harmony-central, etc. and other used outlets available to you, like local stores, thought person-to-person is your best deal. You'll get more for your money. In fact, check out talkbass's classifieds. That way you can check out the seller by searching their threads.

Craigslist it, bro! You'll find way better deals - just make sure you try stuff out before you buy it...unless it's here on TB...people here on TB don't seem to want to rip anyone off...just watch out for Craigs or the EvilBay scammers

+1 on the acoustic, with the addendum of most lesser known (but highly regarded on TB) brands will sell better quality combos for about the same price as that fender.

you really should just head down to your nearest guitar center and play everything in your price range

Look at used stuff. Your dollar can go further. You can get some stuff that is used but not abused and will still be great and allow you to grow into other amps if/as needed down the road.

Standard answer is used, but I'll jump on the new Acoustic bandwagon. Those things are alot of amp for the money, AND they sound good. Not the norm with entry level amps.
