Upgrading battery compartment on a Peavy Cirrus

I haven't.

Since there are two 9 volts in there you'd have to route for an additional quick change battery door (or whatever Stew Mac calls them). I've never seen a dual, 9 volt quick change compartment.

There actually is a dual nine volt version from stewmac. It works pretty well and is super useful when you have EMG's. Invalid Link Removed

Also, my suggestion-if it fits-is to just route for the dual nine volt box in the plastic cover.
That's how I installed mine.

Edit: Just looked up the back cover, might not fit.

The access hatch on my US J Plus looks like the above without the battery door, just a cover for the back routed control cavity. It has brass inserts in the body and I've thought about taking them out and putting in some disk magnets, epoxying the screws in place through the cover, then trim them flush on the underside. When installed it would look like your typical back cover but it would pop right off when it was time to replace the battery. How strong depends on the size and number of magnets used. I would want one with a lot of pull so I might come up with some form of "key". Maybe a bent strip of spring steel thin enough to slip under the cover so it could be used as a lever to pull it off.

Unfortunately, no. A cursory search of the interwebs reveals that there is much diversity in suction cup design and deployment. Assuming that silicon is a poor choice, rubber or plastic? Vacuum pump or manual? Able to accept accessory fittings or not? Too many choices.

We'll leave it to others to decide which is best for them.

Although, there is this: 1 1/2" suction cup lifter. It's pretty sweet.

With all the bashing that StewMac takes over tool prices around here, there is no way anyone will pony up for this.

Is the magnetic force so strong that it would be hard to open?
if you use Invalid Link Removed, maybe

(neodymium, two of these flying together would have enough force to like crush every bone in your leg)

the 1/8" by 1/8" neo ones would be just right, they're strong enough to firmly snap the cover in place but can still be easily lifted away, say if you cut a little curved thumbnail notch in one corner of the cover.

i got some of the little ones from mcmaster-carr for a different use, they work great.
