Since there are two 9 volts in there you'd have to route for an additional quick change battery door (or whatever Stew Mac calls them). I've never seen a dual, 9 volt quick change compartment.
Suction cup.
On a dowel with a hook, it's a dedicated tool that hangs on tool board at bench.
Do you have a link to reviews of various high quality brands of suction cups? Preferably in the under $2 range.Then get a good suction cup and put it on the dowel.
