Upgrading my fretless Squier, need suggestions!

I ordered my Squier Vintage Modified Fretless along with a Badass II Bridge, which has made all the difference in the world. Also, my guy is hand carving me a bone nut (he's the freakin man). Now I'm looking at better pickups and tuners. I'm a sucker for classic J-bass tone and therefore leaning towards Noiseless Jazz pups, but please share any experience with any other J-type pickups! Especially need help with tuners as I know nothing about upgrade tuners! Links would be particularly helpful! Thanks!

Those are high on my consideration list but the hum turns me off a bit, because I do a lot of solo playing. Definitely some sicks pups though; I'm sure.

Shielding and grounding should fix that.
