I wouldnt stress too much over it, even if you go for a long period without playing the electric bass, you can just re-familiarise yourself with the instrument physically a few days before you need to do a performance.

thats exactly how I would do it. I started UB last March and although I practice and do a lot of studio stuff with the UB, my main live instrument is still an old Fender Jazz. If a gig is coming up, I just hook it up and practice a bit.... and of course the Jazz feels nice and easy to play after the UB
