Upstaged by a Patrick Swayze movie

I've been hearing more about Dirty Dancing since he passed but that's irrelevant. Everyone knows Red Dawn was his greatest movie! WOLVERINES!

Great ridiculous eighties movie, still not sure why Cubans invaded Idaho, but whatever. I can't give that an edge over Roadhouse. Roadhouse sidekick- Sam Elliot, one of our generations biggest badasses. Charlie Sheen? Eh, not exactly badass. Cool at times, but not a badass.

Red Dawn was amazing! & they were russians not cubans, work with me here.

You are going to need to rewatch that amazing movie. There were both, working together.

It may have been colorado, but it was definetly a mountainous western state. There is probably mor e agriculture in Idaho (number one US producer of potatoes) than in colorado anyway. And the farms are in the breadbasket, not the rockies, hence its name. Either way, didn't make a lot of sense, but awesome movie.

My band played a bar last weekend. We were the first band on. There weren't many people there, but those who were there sure were glued to the TV showing of Roadhouse. The owner asked us to go on 10 minutes late, but he didn't specify the reason. I think he wanted the movie to end before we went on. We got nowhere near the applause, hoots, and hollers as the shirtless kung-fu Swayze. It was a pretty tough act to follow.
You could have possibly upstaged Swayze by yelling:

"Nobody puts *name of your band* in a corner!"

Jeff Healey FTW!! :D

Btw - I hate when the bar leaves the TV on. I've been upstaged by sporting events a bunch of times. It gets bad when *I* start watching the game while playing on stage! hahaha

In my neck of the woods we purposely books gigs on Fri/Sat when we know hockey games are on the tube. It's a garunteed crowd at the bar, and at least half of 'em stick around after the game.

You think that's bad? Try this.
You're onstage playing, and the club's soundman/DJ puts on a videotape of pro wrestling, then presses and holds the fast forward button. :D:D:D Freakin' impossible to play and look at that! It's hilarious to watch, though! Try it sometime.
