URGENT!!!What Amp Would You Suggest

Hey guys, next week i am going to a shop and buying myself an amp head, probly from Billy Hyde Music. I have a few heads in mind:

Ashdown Mag300
Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0
Hartke HA3500
Ashdown Mag600

What do you recommend?

The head will be powering my Ashdown 410 deep 450 watt 8ohm cab. I play hardcore metal kinda stuff, i play live and in practise, sometimes a pa system is there to help, sometimes its not. i have two guitarists in my band, one has a peavey 100 watt 2x12 valvwking combo and the other has a 120 watt randall 4x12 solid state stack. the drummer in my band is not too loud, but not quiet either so yea. What amp do you suggest, have any others ud like to suggest, im not interested in buying second hand.

Budget goes up to around $700AUD, $800AUD if im lucky

well, the MAG 600 is the exact same thing as the MAG 300, so if you end up going with one of those, you might as well get the 600 and get more wattage out of the deal. Plus, it's not a bad head either, definitely a good choice

with metal, try Ampeg or GK. I would think of Ashdown not so "dark" enough to match the stuff you play. Same for Hartke (at least for the 3500 model; but i would try the LH500 as well). But at the end, it's a matter of taste and how you play...

The LH series of amps from Hartke have a tube preamp, sound great and fit nicely in your price range.

What does evryone think about the Ashdown Mag600, any good? ive heard it can be a bit dodgy.

Out of the ones you've listed I would go with the Hartke.

If your playing hardcore, use Gallien Krueger or Ampeg, they both have really ballsy sound and you won't be ignored on stage :]

I don't think the Shuttle 3.0 or other amps in that power rating zone would be appropriate for your situation. 500-600 watts @ 4 ohms would be much better. Lots of choices there.

As for which brand, I think the best thing is to go to the store and try 'em all out.
