Here we have for your consideration a.......(takes a big breath)..... US G&L M2500 in white over swamp ash with a bound quarter sawn maple neck with ebony fretboard sans fret board markers...
I just bought it new a couple months ago and it's in perfect condition. I'll snap some more pics of it tonight along with the build sheet. It's a totally killer bass with awesome options I just find that I prefer my L series basses a bit more.
The only trade I might be interested in would be a L2500 but since I already have two it'd have to be pretty cool. Thanks TB!

I'd have to take it to work to weigh it but it's can't be over nine pounds. The neck is the stock satin finish, no tinting.

I'd like to know the weight also.

What's the difference between the M's and the L's?

Here’s a pic of the build sheet. I weighed it and it comes in at 9.7 lbs. this is on a scale in the shipping department at my work so it should be pretty accurate.

What's the difference between the M's and the L's?

I'll weigh in on the M vs. L question:

The L series basses utilize 2 MFD Humbucking pickups with 3 knobs: Volume, Bass(Cut only), and Treble(cut only). Along with that, there are three switches: Pickup selector(Bridge, Neck, or both), Parallel/Series, and A 3 position Passive, Active, and Active with treble boost. Note that use of passive mode allows you to continue if your battery dies. This control set is somewhat unique in the industry.

The M series uses a version of the MFD pickup that is under-wound by approximately 11% vs. the L series. M series basses feature a control set that is more typical of today's active J basses - 3 knobs for a 3-band EQ that is boost/cut(Bass, Mid, Treble) and a rotating pickup "blend" pot that allows you to select how much of each pickup is sent to the amp, along with a volume control. The EQ is as follows: Bass- +/-14dB @ 40Hz, Mid- +/-12dB @ 800 Hz, and Treble- +/-14dB @ 8kHz.

Hope this helps.

Jees, my bad! I meant to detail the differences at one point but then forgot. Thanks Jimtoonz, I couldn't have said it better myself!

I should also add that the M series are quieter electronics than the L' s
similar to a stingray but has its own vibe. Great basses

When you say similar to a Stingray is that in tone?

While I think the M series rear pickup is a lot more useful than the L series I wouldn’t say that it sounds like a Stingray. The active preamp lets you EQ it however you want, and blend it with the front pickup. Both of which you can’t do with an L series.

Somewhat similar in tone.
The M is more organic sounding than a Ray to my ears.
I'm surprised the M series isn't more popular with G&L enthusiasts.
Ed friedland gave the M 2500 a stellar review on YT and was a big reason I got one

I would agree with this. The G&L is just the sound of the bass where the Stingray’s sound is in the preamp. IMHO anyway.

Can the m be nearly as aggressive as the Stingray or L yet be rolled off for a mellower tone when needed?

The only thing I can say is it sounds more smoother to me than my L series basses. Having said that I usually play with the EQ knobs at center or a little bit one way or the other. It can get pretty snarly if you dial up the mids and boost the bass a bit. The highs aren’t nearly as glassy (brittle?) as a Stingray. It’s a great bass.
