USA Custom Guitars / USACG Love?

I see a lot of Warmoth threads but don't really see many USACG thread around here? I'm putting together a parts p-bass and would like to use USACG as they are able to do a traditional truss rod, no graphite/steel reinforcement rods and b/c in the guitar forums USACG seem to get a bit more love than another part supplier. Any USACG love from the bass community? By the way anyone thing it's a bad idea to do a bass neck with slat sawn maple/rosewood board and no reinforcement rods? I figure vintage Fender basses are still working after 40 or so years.

Well. I am just ticked off every time I inquire about a ready made body on the website, most of which are marked "sold", only to then be told the one I want is sold and nobody updated the website yet. It's just a bit unprofessional.

But you are right. Warmoth tries very hard to force people to buy necks with heavy hardware inside. The "pro" neck truss rod on guitar, which I think makes things sound like turds, and then forcing bassists to take the reinforcing rods. Not gonna happen.

Some Warmoth bodies are also way off vintage specs, e.g. the regular Strat bodies which have overhang both in front and in the back of the trem cavity. Removing wood from where the 6 posts go? No thanks.

I have on the list to try some MusiKraft thing. But they stopped being aggressive on Ebay and I'm a cheap bastard.

YES, they do!!!

I have build an amazing 5 sting jazz using their one of their 5 sting jazz body and neck.

the quality was amazing! I regret selling that bass big time...

I pretty sure they can do a 5 string p-bass body too!

The truss rod doesn't bother me much. What bugs me is that carbon rods are a $60 upgrade!

Also, their premium tops or finishes tend to be 2-3x as expensive as a Carvin with the same option.

Luckily, my Warmoth build with just be a Gecko Medium 5 in a black stain (that I'm applying myself).

I have actually called before to enquire about a body or neck that was already sold but was then offered a new neck/body at a comparable price. Totally worth it. I have a USACG neck on my jazzmaster and one on my jazz bass. Love them both! Get 'em without hestitation.
