USACG body finishing

Ok, here are pics of the sunburst. My first. :bassist:

Yep, runs are bad. If you look toward the heel of the bass, you can see that I thinned the paint too much. Luckily I was able to wipe off the water based airbrush paint before it dried with a wet rag and warm water. I ended up spraying the paint without thinning and the first coat worked out fine as seen in the pics above. Here are the runs.

The black jack socket looks goo against the blue. You may want to do some smoothing and cleanup in the edge of the hole, though, before you finish our the painting that would cover up the rework.

You are exactly right. I just put a couple of coats of sanding sealer in that rough area and I'll do some smoothing once its dried. I also drilled the screw holes and hardened those up as well. I'll post a pic once it's cleaned up.
