Thanks. I'm just trying to give back. I own a brown, red, and black bass so blue was kinda next on the color wheel.

The body came drilled for 7/8 electrosocket jack. I countersunk the body so the jack would be recessed. it turns out that a 1 inch spade bit fit just about right.

and here is the jack in upside down so you can see the lip sits flush.

I've never airbrushed before only painted with a siphon cup. Here's what I bought at michael's it's a badger 250-2. It was 25ish bucks.

Yep, runs are bad. If you look toward the heel of the bass, you can see that I thinned the paint too much. Luckily I was able to wipe off the water based airbrush paint before it dried with a wet rag and warm water. I ended up spraying the paint without thinning and the first coat worked out fine as seen in the pics above. Here are the runs.

The black jack socket looks goo against the blue. You may want to do some smoothing and cleanup in the edge of the hole, though, before you finish our the painting that would cover up the rework.

You are exactly right. I just put a couple of coats of sanding sealer in that rough area and I'll do some smoothing once its dried. I also drilled the screw holes and hardened those up as well. I'll post a pic once it's cleaned up.

epoxy is my friend. I am going to fill in the rough spots in the jack opening and smooth it out.

hard to see until i get the socket back in there but i've touched up the paint. once it dries, I'll drop that socket in.
